Medical Self Care

MEDICAL SELF-CARE PROGRAM

Medical Self-Care is a program in which the participants receive a comprehensive Self-Care Book that makes them a more intelligent health care consumer. The Book provides reliable medical information and guidance that can help people make better informed health decisions. The topics cover 150 of the top medical concerns that account for the majority of emergency room visits and physician office visits. The book is written for the lay person and the design makes it easy to use. The book provides tips on prevention and when to get specific medical tests. There is a section for children’s medical problems. It is designed to help you make a decision on whether to use self-care treatment or to see your doctor.

Research has shown that when employees utilize the Self-Care Book it reduces the number of emergency room visits and physician office visits. Lower utilization may translate to lower premiums with your Health Insurance Company. Experience has shown that a seminar in which the book is demonstrated with case examples gives employees more confidence and appreciation for the book and thereby increases its usage.
