Diabetes Prevention Program

The Diabetes Prevention Program is an eight week behavioral change program. It meets weekly for one hour sessions. A random glucose test is administered to all employees interested in joining the Diabetes Prevention Program. The glucose test will be administered at the end of the program to measure changes in glucose levels. Ideally, the glucose test should be administered 2 hours after eating. Weight, BMI, and waist to hip ratio will also be measured pre and post.

4. Carbohydrate needs and portion size.

5. Planning meals starting with the Supermarket. Eating out and eating healthy.

6. Exercise for weight loss and to reduce risk factors

7. Healthy cooking and recipes.

8. Sticking with the program long term. Healthy changes for life.
