Our Mission:
Health Promotion Affiliates (HPA) is a Wellness company serving the needs of corporations and organizations throughout Massachusetts and parts of New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
HPA was started by H. Emerson Thomas, Jr. M.D., principal investigator of the Framingham Heart Study and the Multiple Risk Factor Intervention Trial (MRFIT). Dr. Thomas was the Medical Director of a primary care practice in Boston called Medical Care Affiliates (MCA) and envisioned a preventive medicine component in the practice. Health Promotion Affiliates (HPA) was established in 1982 to provide wellness services to corporations. It is estimated that as much as 75% of all illnesses are attributed to modifiable risk factors. In 2003, Medical Care Affiliates and Health Promotion Affiliates became part of Boston Medical Center.
The mission of HPA is to:
- Provide confidential health screenings that serve as an effective tool to educate and motivate employees to improve their lifestyle and reduce the risk for disease and disability.
- Provide the highest quality services to companies with well qualified, professional, dependable and friendly staff.
- Provide convenient, affordable, and customized wellness services.
HPA is a sole source provider that strives to accommodate the specific needs and schedules of our clients. HPA is always available to offer ideas, answer questions, and help you plan your events for maximum participation and effectiveness.
